HAMDEN, Conn. - Freshmen Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) and Loren Barron (Glendora, Calif.) scored two goals apiece to lead the No. 9/10 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team to a 5-1 win against Princeton University in an ECAC Hockey game played at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. The Bobcats' seventh consecutive win pushes the first-place Bobcats' league record to a perfect 7-0-0 while their overall record improves to 11-1-0. Princeton drops to 3-5-1 overall and 2-4-1 in ECAC Hockey.

"It was a little frustrating, because I thought we were doing well to begin the game," Head Coach Rand Pecknold said. "Then we took three penalties in a row and Princeton picked up a lot of momentum there. We just focused a lot on staying out the box. I think we did a good job of that in the second period, plus we were winning races."

Quinnipiac also extended their consecutive games without a loss when leading after the second period to 41 games with a record of 38-0-3. Four of Quinnipiac's five goals for the night came on the power play as Quinnipiac finished the night 4-for-8 with a man advantage.  

Both teams played to a draw through the first period of play, with Princeton outshooting the Bobcats, 11-6. The second period featured five unanswered Quinnipiac goals, including Langlois' fourth of the season just a little over a minute into the frame.

"It was a set play we drew up off the face-off," Langlois explained. "Yuri [Bouharevich] won the draw, it came right back to me and let it loose. It was a great play."

Bobcats' leading-scorer Brandon Wong (Victoria, B.C.) scored his sixth goal of the season a little over two minutes later at the 3:19 mark. Captain Jean-Marc Beaudoin (St. Paul, Alb.) sent a pass behind the Princeton goal to Eric Lampe (Madison, Wisc.). Lampe attempted to come across the goal  mouth with the puck, but dropped off a pass to Wong on the doorstep, who flipped it with the back hand past Princeton starter Zane Kalemba.

Langlois then notched his second goal of the season, giving him his second two-goal outing in his last three games. He also joins Lampe as the only two players with two multiple-goal games this season. Freshman Clay Harvey (Gull Lake, Sask.) flipped a shot on goal from between the face-off circle and the goal line. The puck bounced off Kalemba's shoulder, straight up in the air, and was knocked in by Langlois.

Barron then scored Quinnipiac's last two goals, both coming on the power play, for his first two goals of the year. His first goal, Quinnipiac's fourth, came on a blast from the point on a pass from Reese Rolheiser (Edmonton, Alb.). Zach Hansen (White Bear Lake, Minn.) took control of the puck behind the goal line and passed it diagonal across ice to Rolheiser. Rolheiser then touch-passed it across the blue line to Barron who unleashed a shot on Kalemba that beat the senior goalie to his lower right. Barron's second goal was almost identical, with Greg Holt (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) starting the play.

Princeton's Dan Bartlett scored an unassisted goal just under six minutes into the third period to pull Princeton within four goals. Quinnipiac goalie Dan Clarke (Belleville, Ont.) shut down Princeton down the stretch to finish with 29 saves.

The Bobcats return to action on Saturday, Nov. 28 when they host the University of Massachusetts in a non-conference game at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. The game can be seen live on the New England Sports Network (NESN) at 3 p.m.
