HAMILTON, N.Y. - The No. 13 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team remained perfect in ECAC Hockey play with a 5-3 win against Colgate University at Starr Rink in Ithaca, N.Y. The Bobcats are a perfect 5-0-0 in ECAC Hockey action and 9-1-0 overall, including five consecutive wins. Colgate drops to 5-3-4 overall while they take their first league loss of the year to go to 3-1-1.

Brandon Wong (Victoria, B.C.) had a goal and two assists to lead Quinnipiac while Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) had his first multiple-goal game of his career. Zach Hansen (White Bear Lake, Minn.) had a pair of assists while Quinnipiac freshman Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) stopped 27 of 30 shots in net, while also assisting on a goal.

"We're playing hard right now," head coach Rand Pecknold said. "We had some injuries to overcome in this game, and had to shorten our bench, but we did a great job of that and battled. We're skating hard and playing very well right now."

Wong scored his fifth goal of the season on a  power play just over eight minutes into the game. After Colgate's David McIntyre took a slashing penalty, Quinnipiac had the man-advantage. After winning the face-off, Bobcats freshman Zach Davies (Smithers, B.C.) handled the puck at the point. As Wong slid to the left of Raiders' goalie Charles Long, Davies handed the puck off to Zach Hansen (White Bear Lake, Minn.) above the right face-off circle. Hansen sent a pass to Wong, who re-directed the puck past Long to give Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead early in the game.

The goal was Wong's 54^th of his career, moving him past Bryan Leitch '09 into seventh place in Quinnipiac's Division I history. Hansen's assist gives him a point in three consecutive games.

Colgate's Brian Day tied the game just under four minutes into the second period. Seconds after Quinnipiac successfully filled a hooking penalty, Austin Smith took control of the puck in the neutral zone before passing across ice to McIntyre. McIntyre then hooked up Day, the right wing, driving the net. Day faked a shot, skated behind the net and banked a shot off Quinnipiac goalie Eric Hartzell's (White Bear Lake, Minn.) skate to tie the game. Smith and McIntyre were credited with assists on the play.

The Bobcats responded with three unanswered in the period, one by Jean-Marc Beaudoin (St. Paul, Alb.) and a pair by freshman Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.), giving the first-year forward his first career multiple-goal game.

Beaudoin gave Quinnipiac the lead with his third of the year. After a Colgate rush on Quinnipiac's goal, Hartzell handled the puck and sent it up-ice to Beaudoin. Beaudoin picked the puck up in front of the Quinnipiac bench and streak to the net. His wrist-shot from in front of the goal beat Long under his blocker to put the Bobcats back on top, 2-1.

Langlois scored less than two minutes later. Mike Glaicar (Kamloops, B.C.) handled the puck at the point and sent a pass wrapping around the boards to Wong behind the Colgate net. Wong spied Langlois in front of the net, who put a one-timer on goal that beat Long stick-side to give Quinnipiac a two-goal lead. Langlois' second goal came on the Bobcats' power-play off a rebound. Hansen sent a pass to Greg Holt (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) at the point. Holt blasted a shot through traffic that found Long's chest and bounced out in front in the crease. Langlois dropped to the ice and poked it between Long's pads to put Quinnipiac on top, 4-1. Zurevinski has now tallied a point in eight consecutive games, the longest active scoring streak in the Bobcats' line-up. Quinnipiac took a 4-1 lead into the second intermission.

Colgate opened the third period with a pair of goals to cut Quinnipiac's three-goal lead to one. Five minutes into the third period, Day scored his second goal of the game to cut into Quinnipiac's lead Day was set-up on the play by Jeremy Price and Wade Poplawski. Austin Smith added another goal less than three minutes later on assists by Kevin McNamara and McIntyre, who picked up his second point of the day, as Colgate moved within a goal, 4-3, with just over 10 minutes to play in the game.

Yuri Bouharevich (Montreal, Que.) added an insurance goal late in the period to seal the 5-3 win. Wong dug the puck out the corner and dished it back to Bouharevich who streak behind the net and beat Long with a wrap-around.

Quinnipiac finishes up their weekend series in Western New York on Saturday, Nov. 21 when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on No. 5 Cornell University at Lynah Rink in an ECAC Hockey match-up set for 7 p.m.
