Fairleigh Dickinson Outlasts Volleyball, 3-2

HACKENSACK, N.J. - Freshman Chelsey Pachoud (Riverview, Fla.) tallied a career-high 19 kills, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was outlasted by Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-2, Friday night at Stratis Arena. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 3-24 (2-12 NEC), while the Knights improve to 6-22 (3-9 NEC).

Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) contributed 22 digs, while Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) added 38 assists. Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) added her 11th double-double of the season with 10 kills and 18 digs. Alyssa Naylor (San Diego, Calif.) also contributed 11 kills, while Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) had a team-high two blocks. Erin Overdevest (Bridgeton, N.J.) also tallied 11 digs. Carey, Lawler and Riker all had three service aces for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats took the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-17, respectively, before the Knights stormed back with a 25-21 decision in the third set and a 25-20 win in the fourth. FDU clinched the match with a 15-13 victory in the fifth set.

Quinnipiac returns to the court Sunday, when it plays host to Sacred Heart. First serve from the Burt Kahn Court is scheduled for 2 p.m.
