HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University freshman women's tennis player Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.) has been named the Northeast Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the third time in five weeks, the league office today announced. Cantor was a double winner in the Bobcats' 4-3 win against intrastate rival UConn, Oct. 13. Cantor also earned NEC Player of the Week on Sept. 22.

Cantor made quick work of UConn's Emily Herb, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles and paired with senior teammate Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) to defeat Kelley LoRusso and Alison Campitiello, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles. For the season, Cantor is now 11-3, including a 6-1 singles mark.

The Bobcats' top players return to action Friday, Oct. 23, at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, hosted by Yale.
