Bryant Defeats Volleyball, 3-0

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Freshman Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) led the Bobcats with six kills and four blocks, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Bryant, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the Chace Center. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 3-20 (2-8 NEC), while the Bulldogs improve to 9-18 (4-3 NEC).

Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) contributed 20 assists, while Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) and Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) each added double-digit digs with 11 and 10, respectively. Chelsey Pachoud (Riverview, Fla.) also added six kills and nine digs. The Bobcats got progressively more competitive with each set, but fell 25-13, 25-20, 25-21.

After a 10-day layoff, the Bobcats return to Northeast Conference action Oct. 29, when they face intrastate NEC foe Sacred Heart. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the William H. Pitt Center in Fairfield, Conn.
