HAMDEN, Conn. - The Northeast Conference's men's tennis coaches have picked Quinnipiac to finish second in the league, the conference office today announced. The Bobcats, which advanced to the NEC Tournament Semifinals a year ago, earned three first-place votes. Quinnipiac University Men's and Women's Tennis Head Coach Michael Quitko has announced the signing of Corey Morgenstern (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) to a National Letter of Intent. Quinnipiac University freshmen men's tennis player Andrew Weeden (Martinsville, N.J.) has been named the Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, the league office today announced. Weeden advanced to the semifinals of the Connecticut State Championships in both singles and doubles this past weekend.  (full story)

Quinnipiac University men's tennis freshman Andrew Weeden's (Martinsville, N.J.) run at the Connecticut State Championships ended Sunday, when he was defeated by Yale's Erik Blumenkranz, 7-6, 6-2, in the semifinals at Yale's Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. Meanwhile, freshman Chris Nelson (Scituate, Mass.) won the First Round Consolation Championship.  (full story)
