HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Department of Athletics and Recreation hosted its seventh annual Season-Ticket Holder Barbecue outside of the TD Bank Sports Center on Thursday, September 19, 2013. Fans, student-athletes and staff members came together for delicious food, some laughs and great fun on York Hill Campus to kick off the 2013-14 campaign.
After some opening remarks from Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald, the Voice of the Bobcats Bill Schweizer, took over and served as the emcee for the evening. Schweizer welcomed all of Quinnipiac’s fans and then proceeded to introduce the coaches of the men’s and women’s ice hockey and basketball teams. Women’s Ice Hockey Head Coach Rick Seeley, Men’s Ice Hockey Assistant Coach Bill Riga, Women’s Basketball Head Coach Tricia Fabbri and Men’s Basketball Head Coach Tom Moore each gave remarks about the upcoming season and addressed their appreciation for all of the support.
The 2013-14 winter season kicks off on September 28, 2013 with an exhibition women’s ice hockey game against Guelph at the TD Bank Sports Center. Faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. The men’s ice hockey team opens home-competition on October 6, 2012 with an exhibition against St. Mary’s, while the men’s and women’s basketball teams begin their home slates in the second week of November.
