Michael Sagl, Men's Lacrosse

Quinnipiac men's lacrosse sophomore Michael Sagl (West Islip, N.Y.) has been named Quinnipiac’s April Male Athlete of the Month.

Sagl, an All-Northeast Conference Second Team honoree this year, paced the Bobcat attack through the month of April en route to the third seed in the NEC Tournament. He scored 12 goals and tallied 11 assists in six games, totaling three hat tricks and four games with at least three points. His highlight of April came in the NEC Semifinals when he posted seven points against Robert Morris at the strength of four goals and three assists. He was named to the All-NEC Tournament Team for his efforts at Bulldog Stadium.

Sagl finished the season with 51 points on 26 goals and 25 assists, which ranked him among the NEC’s top three for points and assists. He was the first Quinnipiac player back in to reach the 50-point plateau in a single-season since Mike Baglio, Joe Baglio and Alan LoGiudice each did it during the 2001 campaign. Sagl has compiled 42 goals and 42 assists through his first two years; placing him in a tie for sixth place in assists, a tie for 16th in points and within the top 20 in goals scored in program history.
