Position: Assistant Athletic Trainer

Lindsay Boots enters her first year as an assistant athletic trainer at Quinnipiac University. She joins the Bobcats’ staff after a four-year stint at Westfield State University, where she previously held the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. With Quinnipiac, Boots will handle athletic training duties for the Bobcats’ field hockey and men’s lacrosse teams.

While working at Westfield State, Boots worked with various varsity athletes providing emergency care, injury assessment, injury prevention and rehabilitation programs. In addition, she served as a clinical instructor to the undergraduate students, where she mentored future athletic trainers in the field. She provided one-on-one consulting to assist with goal setting, energy management, motivation and other topics.

Prior to Westfield State, Boots worked at the University of Rhode Island where she was an assistant athletic trainer for the Rams. From 2007-08, she aided the Rams’ football staff and worked with the gymnastics team, managing many rehabilitation programs and other training room duties. On the side, Boots also served as the primary medical respondent for two summer camps, the National Ultimate Training Camp and the UK International Soccer Camp.

In addition to athletic training, Boots was also an adjunct professor at Westfield State. In her class, Evaluation of Lower Extremity Injuries – Introduction of Exercise Science, she taught a class of 20 students in evaluation techniques of injuries and concepts of fitness. She was also an athletic counselor at Westfield and Springfield College.

Boots is a 2007 graduate of UConn with a BS in athletic training. She then went on to earn an MS in athletic counseling at Springfield College in 2010.
