Quinnipiac Student-Athletes Help Out Freshmen on Move-In Day

HAMDEN, Conn. - Student-athletes from several Quinnipiac Athletics' teams were on hand on Wednesday, Aug. 21 and Thursday, Aug. 22 to assist incoming freshmen with their move into their new residence halls.

Members of the field hockey, men's ice hockey, men's soccer, women's volleyball, women's rugby, women's soccer and men's and women's cross country teams assembled on "Dorm Road" to assist freshmen, and their parents, in unloading their cars. Members of Quinnipiac’s winter and spring sports chipped in as well.

"For 18 years our student-athletes have been assisting our freshmen and their families with moving in to the residence halls,” said Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald. “I could not be prouder and more grateful to our athletes and their coaches. In community service/Positive Play everyone wins!"

Quinnipiac's Positive Play program is designed to encourage community involvement for Bobcat student-athletes, coaches and staff. Each year, Quinnipiac student-athletes donate countless hours to help in the Quinnipiac, Hamden and surrounding communities, while also raising money for a variety of charities.
