The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics recently announced a record-breaking academic year as 415 Bobcat student-athletes turned in a cumulative grade-point average of 3.199, the highest ever at the University. Of Quinnipiac's 21 varsity teams, 13 registered GPA's of 3.0 or higher, including 269 of the 415 athletes.

Quinnipiac University senior Chris Gloor (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was selected in the 17th round with the 507th pick of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Francisco Giants. It was the second time that Gloor was drafted after he was taken in the 39th round of last year's draft by the Detroit Tigers. Gloor was one of four players from the Northeast Conference taken in the draft.
